Forums tackle timely industry issues

The carbon economy and its likely impact on the printing industry and the role of print in a cross channel communications world are Special Interest Session topics during PrintEx11 as part of the Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology being staged in conjunction with the exhibition.

Open to all industry members, these free sessions will feature the carbon economy and its likely impact on the printing industry and the role of print in a cross channel communications world, from noted industry identities on trends that will affect their businesses.

In this International Forum, delegates from several Asian countries as well as Australia and New Zealand will come together to exchange knowledge, experiences and industry trends.

The first special interest session will be held on Wednesday 4 May from 4.30pm-5.30pm featuring Graham Plant, executive general manager, Pacific Micromarketing and PMP Digital, PMP Limited.

Plant (pictured) will discuss the role of print in cross channel communication and emerging opportunities, including the use of social media to develop business for print providers. Plant is responsible for managing and driving the development, commercial performance and growth of Pacific Micromarketing, Dimension Solutions, Dimension Studios and PMP Digital, in Australia.

The second session will be held from 9am-10.30am on Friday 6 May, immediately before the PrintEx Forums keynote address at 11am by Professor Goran Roos

The second session will feature Environmental Consultant, United Nations Technical Consultant and Academic, Philip Lawrence who will explore the various carbon economy models that are open to the government and how they might impact on the printing sector.

Both Special Interest Sessions will be held in the PrintEx Exhibition Hall 1 Mezzanine area, which also hosts the daily 11am PrintEx Forums.
