Frank Todisco dismisses claims that Printlinx is closed

A commercial wrangle saw the Melbourne company’s Lorimer Street premises temporarily shut yesterday for six hours to midday.

While the iconic printing company is engaged in negotiations with its landlord over the provision of stormwater drainage, it is still working “flat out”, according to Frank Todisco, director. “Yes, we were locked out yesterday from 6am to 12pm but we’re back open again and it’s business as usual,” he said.

He blamed the dispute on a series of three floods that hit the company’s riverside premises last March. While the insurance company paid up it required new drainage infrastructure to be installed at the site. It is this that is the cause of ongoing negotiations between the company and its landlord.

“We are still operational and busy producing school diaries. We’ve had offers of assistance but we don’t need them. Orders are still coming in; the workforce is behind us. But it is an ongoing dispute and I can’t say how it will be resolved,” said Todisco.
