Fuji Xerox fuels Salmat's transpromo takeoff
Salmat continues to conquer the world of transpromo with more installations of the Fuji Xerox Color Continuous Feed System.
The company made history by installing the world's first high-speed Color Continuous Feed System at its Melbourne facility mid last year, where it was hailed by chief operating officer, Neil Brener, as the way of the future.
"It represents the latest technology that enables companies to convert the cost of mailing statements into a revenue opportunity," he said. "It's the next stage in the evolution of CRM."
The Fuji Xerox press made such an impression that since then two more installations have taken place in both Melbourne and Sydney in late 2007.
David Besson, chief operating officer, Salmat, witnessed the results which the press had brought the company and decided that it could benefit from purchasing more. "The teething issues which were naturally experienced have been reduced dramatically and we're very happy with where we are at," he said.
"We are seeing some uplift in transpromotional requirements from our customers and these machines cater for that contractual work."
The Color Continuous Feed System brings not only advantages for Salmat, but also for its customers. Besson notes that it has given their customers the opportunity to use statements as marketing tools.
"Some customers want to use third-party advertising as a way of cross subsidising the cost of their statements," he said. "Other companies are using it as a cross selling opportunity within their own business."
Besson did not rule out the chance of further Color Continuous Feed Systems installations. "The next phase of the role out of equipment will be based on customer needs," he said. "We're expecting to increase our capacity over the short term."
