Fuji Xerox lets loose with DocuColor 8000AP

The new digital press, which claims to offer the fastest speed in its class at a full rated 80 pages-per-minute across all paper stocks and flexible dual operation modes, aims to deliver quick production workflow and sharp image quality.

According to Henryk Kraszewski, production colour marketing manager for Fuji Xerox Australia, the DocuColor 8000AP (pictured below) was specially designed for print providers in commercial and in-plant environments.

"For instance, customers can choose an 'All Weight' or 'Single Weight' mode to control the look and feel of output. The 'All Weight' mode sets the press to run at 80 ppm regardless of stock weight or type with the added benefit of a more 'matte' appearance, whilst 'Single Weight' mode varies the print speed based on the paper weight, with a glossier output," he said.

The digital colour press can handle a range of media up to 300 gsm, including coated and uncoated papers, transparencies and synthetic materials to create customised applications such as glossy books and magazines, promotional materials and direct mail, speciality items including magnets and decals, and durable documents.

The DocuColor 8000AP features 2400x2400x1 dpi print resolution for excellent sharpness and uniformity - resulting in crisp, sharp text and digital screening technology that improves color consistency. Like the DocuColor 8000, the digital press offers tight front-to-back registration of +/- 0.5mm, which nicely complements output from offset presses.

Kraszewski said that the introduction of the DocuColour 8000AP Digital Press demonstrated Fuji Xerox's on-going innovation. "We're committed to making our leading digital colour presses even better and that's exactly what we've done with the DocuColor 8000AP," he said.
