Fuji Xerox rewarded for report

Fuji Xerox wins Sustainability Reporting category at the 2010 Australasian Reporting Awards.

The award was presented at the Awards Presentation Dinner on 10 June 2010. Fuji Xerox Australia has been measuring its performance against its sustainability commitments since its first Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) report in 2005, and every report since then has been independently assured. Their fifth Sustainability Report published in 2009 has been recognised by the ARA for its completeness, credibility and innovative approach to web-based communication.

Amanda Keogh, manager of environment and sustainability at Fuji Xerox Australia sees the award as great recognition. “We are honoured to be recognised with this award. We believe that environmental sustainability should be a core business practice and work hard each year to reduce our footprint – this ensures that the business as a whole is sustainable. It follows that that the progress against our aims should be reported transparently to stakeholders and customers,” she said.

“The annual Sustainability Report is a critical publication for Fuji Xerox Australia and we are delighted that our efforts and our presentation of the results meet ARA’s high standards.”

Nick Kugenthiran, (pictured) managing director at Fuji Xerox Australia, believes that this approach to sustainability in the company’s engagement with its stakeholders is key. “Many companies claim to seek long-term sustainability, but it may not always flow through the entire business as tackling these issues systemically is a real challenge,” he said.

“Fuji Xerox Australia has relished this challenge and taken a leadership role to demonstrate sustainability in a large company to our customers, suppliers, partners and the wider industry.”
