Fujifilm makes Whitech the next stop in expansion plans

The acquisition is part of FujiFilm's ongoing business development and expansion strategy, according to Mike Machida, CEO.

"FujiFilm has maintained a strong business relationship with Whitech throughout the development of the Fujifilm Digital Printing Model; so that organisation's acquisition of an equity interest in Whitech was a natural progression," he said.

Whitech's suite of Photo. Teller software are now marketed with FujiFilm's Digital Photo Centre kiosks. According to Dave Marshall, FujiFilm's Australasia director, the organisation's investment in Whitech proves FujiFilm's commitment to providing a sophisticated fulfilment solution for retailers as well as a user-friendly selection of print ordering and photo gifting solutions for consumers.

"The popularity of photo gifting in Australia will create the next growth phase for the imaging industry where ordering from retail digital photo centres, as well as new home ordering models, are expected to double in the next two years," Marshall said.

The incorporation of Whitech software with FujiFilm's DPC kiosks will enable customers to edit images for in-store printing, along with enhancing the ordering of photo gifting products such as story books, photo books, personalised stationery, key rings and t-shirts.

"Whitech kiosk software can also be customised for each retailer's needs to accommodate all workflow management and output capabilities," he said.
