Fujifilm takes its graphics business away from IPP

The announcement sees Peter Carrigan and his sales and service team transferring to Fujifilm by September 30. There will be no interruption to the company's operations during what Jonathan Clarke, IPP Managing Director, described as an amicable changeover.

“At IPP we have valued the business relationship with Fujifilm over the past three years and are keen to see the success of the Fujifilm brand continue in the market. The strength of the relationship enjoyed by both IPP and MAN Roland with Fujifilm has ensured that the transfer has been agreed in a manner which will maintain a mutually beneficial cooperation in machinery and prepress projects in the market.

“On behalf of IPP I would like to thank Fujifilm for an exciting and very beneficial three years as their distributor and wish Fujifilm great success for the ongoing business.”

The move will represent a personal and professional milestone for Peter Carrigan, general manager of GSA, who began representing Fujifilm in Australia 28 years ago. Following a fairly mobile career path that saw the brand represented by, amongst others Sicpa and CPI, he will now be finally working directly for the company.

“It's a new lease of life,” said the industry veteran. “It's been fun working with Jonathan and the people at IPP, but it's nice to be warmly welcomed by Fujifilm after all these years.”

All of the current GSA sales and support staff maintain their contact numbers and will continue to serve existing customers on a business as usual basis during the transfer.

“GSA have been an excellent distributor for Fujifilm”, said Mike Machida, Fujifilm Australia CEO. “During the last three years we have seen enormous growth in the population of Fujifilm CTP devices in the Australian and New Zealand markets and a continued growth in the use of our plates and consumables. We have enjoyed a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with IPP reflected in the amicable nature of the in principle agreement reached to transfer the business in-house. ”
