Full Impact goes wide with 100th NUR install
The Tempo represents the 100th worldwide install for NUR, a prominent player in the expanding wide format segment of the graphic arts industry. The machine prints UV curable inks directly on rigid panels and surfaces without the need for extra finishing, mounting or lamination, emphasised by Full Impact as ideal for keeping the costs down in short to medium jobs.
Phillip Burns, director of Full Impact (pictured ), claims the machine is a welcome addition to the company's already extensive imaging capabilities. “It secures a speedy turnaround and high resolution that was never before possible with traditional screen printing technology,” he claims.
The purchase of the NUR Tempo is part of Full Impact's overall business strategy to exploit the full potential offered by flatbed UV printing. “We currently have three screen-printing presses and seven ink-jet printers, and I plan to move all of that work over to the Tempo,” says Burns.
“Ultimately, the purchase will facilitate a complete shift of the company over to the digital side. My vision is to have two to three such flatbed UV printers on the floor of the factory, and nothing else,” says Burns.
The inks used by the Tempo are optimised for UV and water resistance to ensure outdoor durability, as well being suitable for indoor use with its wide colour pallet. Images can be produced with an apparent resolution of up to 720DPI, with print speeds ranging from 30+ m2/hr up to 120m2/hr.
Burns claims his business will shortly be consolidating its production facilities under the one roof to take full advantage of the new capabilities, and has emphasised a commitment to developing innovative new products drawn from flatbed UV printing.
