Gain IS014001 certification with GASAA course

The Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia (GASAA) has recently announced a key training initiative for printing industry professionals - the GASAA Environmental Management Course.

This industry-approved and managed course sets companies up to obtain ISO14001 international certification of Environmental Management. Successful participants will obtain duel GASAA recognition and ISO certification.

The course is suited to those with even the busiest schedules, taking only 1 day per month over a six-month period. Group saving discounts will save you around half the price of doing it yourself.

The course is delivered and mentored by Paul Kohn, Principal of AKP Leura, a leading consulting firm in management and control systems. AKP LEURA has assisted many firms obtaining ISO 14001 certification, among many is GASAA member, Focus Press. Paul specialises in the areas of safety, quality insurance and environmental certification. He is a member of the Standards Australia Committee on ISO 14001 (QR11) and the Corporate Environmental Managers Group.

You will receive:

_ Group training and information sessions on how to set up and Environmental Management System to comply with ISO14001.

_ Generic documents which can be used to provide all the written procedures and other documentation to obtain ISO14001

_ A half-day at each participating site identifying risks specific to the site and begin the process of recording environmental information required by ISO14001

_ A one-year subscription to Law Guides valued at $1,800 includes an update service indicating law changes as required by ISO14001.

_ A half-day on each participating site at the end of the six months during which an audit will be conducted to prove that an Environmental Management System has been implemented that is based on ISO14001. A successful audit will result in the issue of a GASAA certificate that the company has implemented an Environmental Management System based on ISO14001.

Preparing your company for sustainable manufacturing makes financial and corporate sense. As customers become more ecologically conscientious and search for greener alternatives - printing and graphic arts businesses cannot afford to be left behind.

The course will provide a competitive edge over firms that have not formalised their environmental approach and you will be listed on GASAA's registrar of environmentally recognised members.
