Then there is the Knowledge Forum, a series of seminars held in major cities in Australia and New Zealand with the fist one held in Brisbane next week. Promoted by the organisers as a safe, non-pitch environment designed as a forum of learning, the daylong events will focus on reviewing drupa and consist of panel debates, end user show highlights, and a workflow debate with some of the key vendors.
The Forums will take place in Brisbane on Thursday June 17, Sydney on Tuesday June 22, Melbourne on Thursday June 24 and Auckland on Tuesday July 6.
“In keeping with our mission to create a Knowledge Forum that is a non-pitch environment, focused only upon knowledge sharing and learning, we’re asking printers to come forward, participate in a focus group, review and finalise what they want to hear about in the seminars,” explained Clare Gillespie, organiser of The Knowledge Forums.
The Focus Group will take place on June 8, from 6.30pm-8.30pm in Sydney. Refreshments will be provided. To register your interest email info@theknowledgeforum.com or call the organisers on 02 9939 0579.
And then the second in a pair of drupa review events in Sydney organised by the LIA in association with GASAA, at the Fivedock RSL and Community Club next week June 16 (Wednesday).
The theme is work flows and MIS. Penfold Buscombe’s Scott Telfer will review all the latest in the
heavy metal arena. He will pose the question and provide some answers, by asking has the lithographic press as we know it reached its zenith in development and will future web and sheet fed upgrades be simply refinements on today’s technology?
Later, Carlos Schwindt and Bob Mercier of ANSPAC will tell why they did not wait for drupa to order their massive new KBA press. What were the features that prompted the buy decision and how will these acquisitions position the company in the competitive litho carton market?
Following, Hewlett Packard and Xerox will present their views of where their high speed, products fit in the graphic market. Is the future of the A3 litho press under threat?
Following questions, Andy McCourt will present his crystal ball view of life in the print shop of 2010.
