Gallus strengthens service support in NSW
Gallus Australia and Powered Innovations have signed a service agreement that will see Powered Innovations taking over all service duties in the NSW area.
Signed just before Christmas, the agreement will also see Powered Innovations support Gallus in other areas of Australia. Gallus Australia will continue to work with its current service engineers with the objective of Powered Innovations lending additional support where required.
Following training at Gallus Switzerland, Powered Innovations will be able to provide expert service support for the various Gallus machine systems.
Gallus Australia’s managing director, James Rodden (pictured right), says the company looks forward to working closely with Powered Innovations. “Our goal will be to improve our level of service support to our customers,” he says.
Powered Innovation founders, Martin and Louise Cordina (pictured left and centre respectively), echo the sentiment and say they are keen to start the service training program in Switzerland and Germany.

The service agreement with Powered Innovations is expected to double Gallus Australia’s existing service capacity and complement the company’s existing trained engineers in Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
The alignment of Gallus and Powered Innovations brings together two technology-focused firms. Under Rodden’s leadership, Gallus Australia has become the leading label press supplier to the local industry.
Rodden says that during his time in the industry, he has seen a dramatic change in the level of press technology, moving from purely mechanical controls to electronically controlled servomotors.
This technological change has increased the requirement for a more highly sophisticated level of maintenance and service. Louise and Martin Cordina have framed their service company to meet these new requirements.
“We call ourselves Powered Innovation because it’s not just mechanical or electrical but a combination of both,” says Martin Cordina.
The electrical and mechanical engineering trade company has plenty of experience in the narrow web press sector. The company has a current complement of seven employees, and claims to be ideally positioned to hit the ground running following the signing of the agreement.
“We’re very excited to be working with Gallus. It allows us to grow. Employing more engineers and putting on an apprentice in Sydney,” says Louise Cordina.
Both companies are focused on increasing the number of presses that operate under service contracts. This allows preventative maintenance to be performed at the most suitable times and ensures increased uptime. Rodden points out that, in addition, all Gallus machines can be linked to a central maintenance server in Germany for greater security.
“The industry has suffered margin erosion in recent years, therefore it is more important than ever to increase uptime,” says Rodden. “Gallus’ alliance with Powered Innovations is a major advantage for our customers. Our customers want access to round the clock service support for their presses. Our new relationship with Powered Innovations will ensure help is only a phone call away.”
