The closing date for the 2013 GAMAA Industry Overseas Internship Grant, which is valued at $15,000, has been extended to 30 March, 2013.

Initiated by GAMAA last year, the grant allows the successful applicant to undertake an internship with companies of their choosing anywhere in the world.

Last year’s winner, Peter Barnet of Bambra Press in Melbourne, visited the USA where he attended the Direct Marketing Association (DMA12) show in Las Vegas, met with a number of visionary digital printing firms and undertook an intense weekend workshop with marketing wizard Seth Godin, Barnet’s marketing mentor.

Internships can be undertaken in marketing, new media, print, graphic design and other nominated disciplines related to the print media field. The outcome of the successful Grant will be a research paper documenting the recipient’s experience and how these learnings can be applied to the Australian market.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the industry to expand their knowledge base and contribute to the future of our industry," says Karen Goldsmith (pictured), GAMAA executive director. "I encourage those who are interested in applying for the GAMAA Grant to call me to discuss their project prior to submitting an application. Even if you only have the germ of an idea, let’s talk about it to see how it may be developed.”

Applications for the 2013 GAMAA Industry Overseas Internship Grant close on March 30, 2013. Please visit the GAMAA website for more information – www.gamaa.net.au - or call GAMAA on (02) 9869 0010
