GAMAA power players reunite with Alumni gathering

GAMAA hopes with its Alumni gatherings to further develop future leaders in the graphic communications industry and has already held its first meetings in Sydney and Melbourne. The success of the gatherings has been attributed to the presence of a diverse range of keynote speakers.

At the Melbourne gathering Alastair Hadley, general manager of sales and marketing at Heidelberg, addressed the audience about “Leaving an Impression” while Ken Williams, managing director of Excel Australasia, spoke on “Entrepreneurship and Success - Blue Ocean versus Red Ocean.”

At the Sydney event Lisa Hanrahan, director at Rockpool Publishing, spoke about “Personality and Publishing” while Chris Roden, general manager of Roden Print, addressed the topical issue of “Succession versus Success”.

GAMAA is aiming to encourage a climate of questioning and discussion with the gatherings, enabling all participants the opportunity to explore current issues within the industry. The guiding principals of the Alumni is to develop leaders in the industry; present research to fellow members; network amongst peers; provide a forum to share technical and personal learnings; and contribute to GAMAA by complimenting their educational objectives.

The GAMMA Alumnus meets three times a year in Melbourne and Sydney. Invitations are extended to industry representative looking to network or share expertise. Invitations to the next meeting, to be held in February 2007, are available from Steve Strang at sstrang@excelaustralasia.com.au.
