GEON goes for gold at Pride In Print awards

Six gold medals and a Supreme award for labels all made GEON very happy at this year's Pride In Print awards.

In addition, GEON also took out eight highly commended certificates, making it one of the most recognised entrants on the night.

Andrew Durrans, GEON's general manager, New Zealand (pictured) was extremely chuffed with the result. "I'm so proud of all the awards we've won over the years," he said. "GEON has featured heavily in the Pride In Print awards since their inception in 1993 and we're one of the top five overall winners."

Durrans was particularly moved by the award for binding and finishing, which was presented to young GEON apprentice. Durrans hopes that more like apprentices will discover both GEON and the printing industry.

"I am very passionate about apprentices and it was great to have a GEON apprentice recognised in this way," he said. "We're constantly looking at new ways to attract and retain quality young people in the industry."

GEON's CEO, Graham Morgan wasted no time in backing up his general manager. "I'm proud to announce our success at the Pride In Print awards which recognise excellence and exceptional work within the printing industry throughout New Zealand," he said.
