Geon walks away with NZ Supreme print trophy

Intense satisfaction for Andrew Durrans in collecting the top award at this year’s Pride in Print Awards.

There were plenty of gold medals up for grabs at the annual trophy hunt held in Wellington last Friday night. Slews of gold in many categories brought cheers and loud applause from the jovial audience in the Convention Centre.

At times it appeared you had to be unlucky to miss out, although the level of quality left no room for error. In the Promotion Print category, under Catalogues and Leaflets, there were no less than 11 gold medals awarded … more than half to Geon. There were 17 gold gongs for Magazines in the Publications category.

But just in case it all seemed too easy, there was another level of distinction; category winner and process winner. Then there were the highly commended.

At the end of the night there were quite a number of winners on the stage awaiting the one glittering prize still to be awarded … the Supreme Award. The Geon Auckland magazine entry, Urbis #54, had already picked up its category and process medals but winning the top prize still drew a delighted cheer from the company’s many tables of supporters.

Andrew Durrans, executive general manager, paid tribute to his team around the country, on winning the most awards of the night. ““We were delighted to see such great results. All in all, a fantastic night for Geon and a very strong recognition of the team’s commitment to supplying quality products to our customers,” he said.
