The cut-off for early bird entry into this year’s annual Printovation Awards is nearly upon us, with submissions before 2 September receiving the special discount rate. However, general submission entries will be open until 16 September for the Awards, which are being held on 3 October in Sydney.

The Printovation Awards recognise and celebrates innovation, creativity and high quality in print by acknowledging Australian creative and print professionals who push the boundaries of print at a consistently high standard.
The awards are judged across a range of key categories including Offset, Web, Digital (non-variable and variable/cross media), Point of Sale, Outdoor, Embellishment/Finishing and general.
The Awards are organised by the Graphic Arts Services Australia (GASA), the design and digital section of Printing Industries Association of Australia (Printing Industries).
This year’s judges are:
Belinda Hubball - Design Director, Hulsbosch Design
Belinda has over 15 years’ experience in global branding agencies – having worked on everything from tiny start-ups and national charities to large financial and even larger retail brands. With a focus on branding and corporate communications, Belinda is no stranger to a beautifully printed piece of design. After a 10 year stint in London and Hong Kong, working at award-winning agencies such as Lloyd Northover and The Brand Union, she has returned to her native Australia. She has been Design Director at Sydney-based agency Hulsbosch for the past 18 months, where she gets to play every day with a wonderful team of insanely talented people.
Richard Daniell - Managing/Creative Director of RDA Creative
Richard Daniell is the Managing/Creative Director of RDA Creative and has over 35 years experience in advertising, creative design and print production, Rick has a vast knowledge of all facets of the industry. In his role as creative director, Rick works closely with his team of talented designers to bring out the best in their abilities in each and every project. His passion for print, from basic business cards to book publishing, drives him to seek full control of the entire process from proof to delivery. Rick is also involved with a number of other companies and holds board positions with GASAA, Integrated Resources Limited (IRG) and Photolibrary Limited – Australasia’s largest photo library.
Jeremy de Villiers - Executive Producer, Leo Burnett
Jeremy De Villiers joined Leo Burnett Sydney over a year ago, prior to this he spent 8 years working as a Print Producer at Saatchi & Saatchi, 1 year as a Senior Producer at Host and most recently spent a year as Head of Production at Moon Communications. Over this period Jeremy has worked across a broad range of clients and has been responsible for producing countless large budget ad campaigns as well as beautiful print pieces and has a thorough understanding of what good print should look and feel like. Jeremy is a passionate art and print buyer and has relationships with scores of long term suppliers at many of Australia’s top print and mail houses. At Leo Burnett, Jeremy is the Executive Producer of Print and overseas everything print related.
Rose Farhart - Head of Innovation & Technology, JCDecaux Australia
Rose heads up the Australian division of the JCDecaux Innovate department. JCDecaux Innovate was launched globally in 2003, and in Sydney in 2005 (the brand now exists in 34 countries). She has over 20 years’ experience in the advertising industry starting her career in Television in the Channel Seven Traffic Department. Following her time at Channel Seven, Rose moved to Adstream where she helped launch their digital commercial delivery division, and after her stint there Rose moved to the ‘Out of Home’ media sector starting at Airworks Media before moving to JCDecaux. Rose has headed up the JCDecaux Innovate department for the last six years; her key role involved implementing JCDecaux Innovate in the Australian market. Rose’s expertise is to work closely with 3rd Party suppliers, sales teams, technical teams and clients to bring new ideas and technologies to life and incorporate them into advertising campaigns that stand out from the standard proposition.
Sunnee Campbell - Managing Director, Webunch
Sunnee Campbell has had over 20 years broad Marketing Services and Printing Industry experience which has encompassed a diverse range of roles both locally and abroad. She has experience first-hand the evolution of marketing communications including the printed piece, online communication and mobile technology. Understanding where the printed piece can still add value to enhance experience and human interaction is the driving force behind her Interactive Event Marketing Business, WeBunch. She previously was an Account Service and then Business Excellence Manager at STI Lilyfield with a core focus on quality, environmental and general management systems, marketing services and ·tender submissions. She has a graduate Certificate of Commerce from Charles Sturt University, Certificate in Direct Marketing from the Australian Direct Marketing Association, a Diploma of Business from SAI Global and an Advanced Certificate in Printing Technology from TAFE.
Paul Richardson - Managing Director of Lindsay Yates Group
Paul Richardson is the Managing Director of Lindsay Yates Group a Sydney based commercial print business with a leading reputation among creative and enterprise print buyers. Prior to this he was Managing Director at Mockridge Bulmer between1990 and 1997. He has Print Cert & B.Bus (Mgt) Degree and is current Board member of Printing Industries Association of Australia and the Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia.
