Getting digital is the key to expansion

Philip Andersen ceo said the move involved partnering with Melbourne-based distributor Smart Digital providing access to a wide range of training titles from Magnet Media Films, publishers of the highly respected DMTS series of training films, and Lynda.com specialists in video training for graphic designers.

"The full range of titles is available to browse in the new DVD-based training section of our website, and where possible we have included online sample downloads to give interested people the opportunity to experience some of these courses," Andersen said.

The training is focused on creative environments in graphic design, video editing and production, sign making, digital photography and specialist areas such as blogging and vidcasting.

The tutorials are usually several hours in length and cover both introductory and advanced levels of knowledge. These include Adobe's Creative Collection including training for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Studio which includes Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks, Contribute and FlashPaper. Adobe CS3 training is on route.

"Training access is always difficult in a work environment and we have identified from our member feedback a need for electronic based facilities that employees and small business operators can use more flexibly and at their convenience," Anderson said.

A launch special has been secured with Smart Digital. "All orders for Adobe CS training Suite software will receive a free copy of Inside Apple OS Tiger. This eight-hour training offers dozens of professional tips and tricks for tapping the power of Tiger and integrating this revolutionary new operating system into your Mac workflow," he said.
