Goanna Print tops revamped ACT awards with three wins
"The revamped award categories appeal to multi - disciplinary / projects," said Printing Industries, ACT General Manager, Barry Neame. "This is a change from the awards being based on craft-based projects, so teams win rather than individuals," he said.
The event was held at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra and attended by the captains of industry and special guest of honour, ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope.
He acknowledged the contribution of the industry towards the local economy which employs over 5,000 people, has a turnover of over in excess of $380 million and over the last four years has invested over $200 million in capital equipment to be a world class producer of print and design.
In all, 12 awards were presented by the Chief Minister to winners for excellence in print, design, environmental initiatives and multi media.
Mr Neame said with the target audiences including printers, print suppliers, designers and multimedia developers, the awards reflect the needs of all stakeholders.
