Gosford designer goes for gold in Red Cross campaign
Graphic designer, Kathie D’Mello’s design for a Red Cross direct mail campaign has taken out this year’s Red Flame Design Awards.
D’Mello, who is an in-house designer at a Kwik Kopy store in Gosford won this year’s competition to design a DM campaign which will be implemented by Red Cross to raise funds towards humanitarian projects in both Australia and the Asia Pacific.
“To win such an award means an awful lot to me and gives me an incredible boost in confidence,” D’Mello said. “Being also able to support the humanitarian works of Red Cross is the icing on the cake.”
Now, D’Mello will work with other marketing and designers to develop her design into a live campaign, along with coordinating the printing and distribution from the Kwik Kopy Gosford centre.
The awards were judged by Red Cross, with input from independent design professionals and the Kwik Kopy marketing team. Designers Griet Coetzer from Kwik Kopy Alexandria and Marta Smith from Kwik Kopy Auburn were the two runners up in the competition.
