Goss and manroland leave sleeve dispute to rest

Five years of feuding comes to an end as Goss International and manroland reach an agreement on web offset press sleeve technology.

The decision comes after a patent litigation was initiated in 2003 alleging that manroland's ROTOMAN S press infringed three US patents held by Goss International for the sleeve blanked technology used in its Sunday web offset press models. The Sunday press was originally developed by Heidelberg before being taken over by Goss.

Terms of the agreement are confidential. Both parties acknowledged that the resolution was in the best interest of their companies and customers, allowing them to offer their press portfolios to the worldwide market.
