Leading Sydney-based sign and display market supplier Graphic Art Mart has acquired Q1 Media of Adelaide to strengthen its national presence.

Q1 Media, formerly DR Signs Supplies, is a wholesaler of sign writing, screen and digital printing products throughout South Australia, with a history dating back to the 1980’s.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to service the South Australian market,” said Mousa Elsarky, MD, Graphic Art Mart. "We’re in for a busy few weeks with the expectation of successfully integrating Q1 Media into our business with minimal inconvenience to customers.”

Q1 Media director Samantha Drewe will stay on and assist the transition, according to a statement:

Graphic Art Mart acknowledges Sam and her team for their commitment to the South Australian market over the last 30 years and the support they have given us in this venture. We are delighted that Sam will remain with the business to help establish Graphic Art Mart in South Australia. We would like to assure Q1 Media’s customers that business will continue to operate as usual out of the current facilities at Unit 31, 937 Marion Road, Mitchell Park, SA 5043.

Graphic Art Mart has existing operations in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, and supplies leading industry brands such as Avery Dennison, Arlon, Roland DG, Aslan, Chemica, Mimaki, and Sihl.

The deal comes a couple of months after Graphic Art Mart was itself acquired by multinational engineering plastics company Dotmar Holdings. At the time, retiring Graphic Art Mart owner/director Mark Tailby described Dotmar as “a cash-rich and asset-rich company that’s backed by an extensive network.”
