In the latest consolidation in the wide format market, leading national distributor Australian Visual Solutions (AVS) has been acquired by Metal Manufactures Limited (MML), effective from last Friday, 30 June.
MML subsidiary MM Plastics Group owns Dotmar, which acquired Sydney-based sign and display industry supplier Graphic Art Mart in December 2015.
AVS CEO Cameron Sutherland announced the sale in a letter to suppliers. He says the business will continue operating as usual and he will be staying on as CEO, along with most of the staff.
Metal Manufactures Limited was established in 1916 and has become a large and diverse Australian company. Current operations include Metal Manufactures Electrical Merchandising (MMEM), Kembla Tube & Fittings, Dotmar Plastics and Rushmore Distributors. The company employs over 2,000 staff throughout Australia.
MMEM is the trade wholesale distribution business based in North Rocks, west of Sydney, with over 250 branch locations across Australia.
AVS was established 20 years ago by Sutherland, when it was known as Ramair Packaging. The company is the exclusive distributor of Yello Tools, Titan, Plasticade, Concept, Spartan Media and Fletcher-Terry trimmers. Its distribution line-up includes 3M, Sihl and Roland.
