Graphic World surplus equipment for $million auction

The company’s first auction for 2007 (last one for this year closes Friday 15th Gray’s Online Printing Auction) will be its first $million plus online printing sale. On the block is the surplus kit from Pacific Print Group’s relocation of its Sydney-based Graphic World subsidiary to Agency Printing. The former Ron Hoolahan-owned company is being closed down with up to 30 of its staff losing their jobs.

According to Andy McCourt of Grays, the stand-out item in the auction is a year 2000 Heidelberg CD102 six-colour with auto plate, which is expected to fetch around the million dollar mark. “This machine has been under a Heidelberg preventative maintenance contract 24/7 since day one, so can virtually be regarded as like new – the 130 million impressions are immaterial. If a part was suspect, it was replaced,” he enthused.

Other presses include an MOZP with Herben numbering, a Kord, a Quickmaster DI 46 digital (also under Heidelberg preventative maintenance) and Svecia and Marathon screen process presses.

Bindery covers folders, stitchers, gluers, guillotines and collators from MBO, Stahl, Harris, Sheriden, Polar, Hunkeler, Horizon and Heidelberg. There is also a mix of prepress equipment and all of the office furnishings.

A preview of the Graphic World auction will be up on www.graysonline.com.au next week with the auction scheduled to begin January 18th and end on January 24th.

Inspection of major equipment can be arranged by appointment before, during and after Christmas (public holidays and weekends excepted) through Grays. Contact andy.mccourt@grays.com.au < >.
