Grays pulls out the big guns for next online printing equipment auction
The auction begins at 10am today, Thursday 16th November. Some of the bargains will include a 1996 Komori Sprint 228 perfector, complete with a machine condition report from CPI Graphics, and a Shinohara 52cm two-colour perfector that is still in daily production and has only 19.8 million impressions.
Grays has made a name for itself with its '$9 start' computer and IT auctions that has earned it favour with Dell, HP, NEC and IBM as a clearance channel for surplus, re-manufactured and superseded stock. The '$9 start' has now entered printing auctions with a huge range of toners, developers and consumables for Xerox 4040 and A-Color printers featured in this week's sale.
“We also have $9 starts on a used Itek press and A3 polyester CtP machine,” says Andy McCourt, graphic arts specialist for Grays Online. “Other equipment includes a Xerox A-Color 936 with Colorbus controller, a Scitex Dolev 800 imagesetter - probably the best ever made - and an Epson/Oris proofing system, all at a fraction of their replacement value.
“We also have a Heidelberg Speedmaster 102-5 and 4-colour GTO coming up. Printers and suppliers are embracing the online auction concept as an efficient channel to clear excess inventory and turn redundant stock into cash. Equally, buyers here and overseas are finding online auctions great places for sourcing needed items at great prices. Equipment can be inspected prior to the end of the auction.”
Grays Auctions handles over 8000 auctions each year with office and warehouse facilities located across Australia. Grays Online was established six years ago and now auctions over half the stock sold by Grays overall, with 370,000 visitors a month to its auction website.
