Hally hails label expansion with Buckner Group

Best of both print worlds as Hally Labels expands with the purchase of the Buckner Group's label printing division.

The two Queensland companies share more than just similar outlooks; both own Gallus presses which, combined, can enhance the quality of the work produced.

"The Buckner Group's printing capability really compliments ours," said Mark McCarthy, general manager, Hally Labels (pictured). "This acquisition offers Hally a unique opportunity to grow its business by incorporating like equipment, a complementary customer base and similarly skilled people."

As a result of the acquisition, which took place at the start of July, staff from the Buckner Group will relocate to Hally's headquarters in Darra. "We will bring across these employees and grow the resulting business even further," McCarthy said.

For Malcolm Buckner, managing director of the Buckner Group, Hally's proposition was too good not to consider. Placing its label division in Hally's hands will allow the Buckner Group to build its brand in print management and direct mail.

"We just felt that we would be better off concentrating on the larger part of our business," Buckner said.

Both parties see this as an exciting opportunity to develop their core businesses.

"It's a secure future," McCarthy said.
