Hally Labels – owned by New Zealand-based Hexagon Holdings - has moved into a new purpose-built facility in Sydney as it prepares to launch its Hally Express five-day turnaround service onto the Australian market.
The five-day model was introduced in New Zealand in 2016.
Hally Labels currently has a five-day lead time for specific Australian clients but will rebrand its entire Sydney site as Hally Express. The new open-plan, temperature-controlled plant at Pemulwuy in Western Sydney includes a dedicated print room for digital equipment.
“We will be launching our Hally Express service model to the Australian market from this site,” said the company in a statement posted on its website [Parent company Hexagon has a policy of not talking to trade publications]. “Hally Express is our fast, responsive and flexible service offering of a five-day turnaround. We’ve offered this service in New Zealand for over 12 months and are confident that our Australian clients will benefit greatly too.
“A fast-turnaround for make-to-order, short-run work can be sourced via Hally Express. Our streamlined workflows ensure a quick response without compromising on quality. Make-to-order, longer run work is held as stock on the shelf for clients to immediately draw off. This option is best suited to labels that rarely change, are required in reasonable volumes, and their usage can be readily forecasted.”
Auckland-based Hexagon Holdings acquired family-owned trans-Tasman label converter Hally Group in 2015.
Hexagon, owned by Mercury Capital and Tom Sturgess, currently owns Adhesif Labels (Auckland, Sydney), Hally Labels (Auckland, Brisbane, Christchurch, Sydney), Kiwi Labels (Christchurch) and Rapid Labels (Auckland).
Hexagon businesses employ about 500 staff, servicing 3100 Australasian clients.
