Roland DG will demonstrate the versatility of heat transfer at a series of hands-on workshops at Visual Impact Sydney next month.

The workshops, which will be on every day at the expo, will focus mainly on process and workflow, says Greg Stone, product and marketing manager at Roland DG. "We’ll focus on our print and cut models, particularly our desktop BN-20 unit. The workshops will showcase the process from print and cut to heat pressing onto various materials, including clothing and apparel and other promotional goods," Stone said.

Stone says that even if you don't want to buy extra equipment, heat transfer can be a viable option for expanding your business. "It’s exploring another avenue for printers to get into with their existing systems. They don’t have to go out and buy a whole new technology, they can do it with their current ecosolvent machines. It’s about highlighting the different applications they can produce, and hopefully inspiring them to take it into their business," he said.

The BN-20 is a desktop print and cut unit designed for entry-level customers, and Roland will use the hands-on workshops to demonstrate the simplicity and accessibility of the platform. "It’s a low-cost model, so it’s a good way for anyone to get into the sector.

"We’ll have not only the equipment and materials there, we’ll have some of our product specialists on hand who’ll be showing the process and inviting attendees to do some hands-on demonstrations to show how easy it is," Stone said.

Visual Impact will run from October 11-13 at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney. Registrations are open now at https://www.infosalons.com.au/VISUAL17S/index.php/.
