Heidelberg brings a slice of drupa08 innovation at PacPrint 2009

Heidelberg will bring innovations first seen in Dusseldorf at drupa08 to the halls of PacPrint 2009 in Melbourne.

Heidelberg will maintain its presence as one of the major exhibitors in our region, recognising the importance of PacPrint in the four year cycle of Graphic Arts sector exhibitions for the Australian and New Zealand print media industry.

Heidelberg’s 1000 square metre exhibit will offer visitors the chance to see more than ten machines demonstrated each day, along with a comprehensive schedule of presentations in their customer care suite, as well as facilities for client meetings.

“The key messages of HEI Performance and HEI Value featured at drupa08 will also be our theme in Melbourne,” says Andy Vels Jensen, Managing Director Heidelberg Australia and New Zealand. “Our focus is on productivity enhancements which will be illustrated not only with new equipment and new features, but also in the services that surround our products such as lean manufacturing techniques, consumables and after sales support.”

Heidelberg is conscious of controlling the costs of PacPrint in response to the economic climate, but believes that the exhibition is a showcase to the industry and the wider community and it is therefore vital to take the opportunity to accentuate the positive and invest in such opportunities.

“Heidelberg is a great innovator. At PacPrint visitors will have the chance to be amongst the first in our region to see many major new enhancements,” says Glenn Plummer Heidelberg GM for Marketing and Product Management. “There will be something to inspire customers from all walks of life in the industry, covering production from prepress, press to postpress and everything in between – including Prinect, colour control and management, connectivity and JDF integration.”

Despite the economic slowdown Alastair Hadley, Heidelberg’s GM of Sales, is still excited about the show as a place to do deals. “Heidelberg equipment that saves time, money and reduces waste will be put through its paces at PacPrint. Couple this with lower interest rates, Australian government assistance with the 30% investment incentive and there’s no better time to invest. Our sales people will be ready to do business, we’ll be able to work up ROI calculations and advise on finance and after sales service options – all aimed at ensuring customers get the best performance from their new Heidelberg equipment.”

In summary, Vels Jensen says, “I want to encourage the industry to support the show. There’s really no excuse to stay away and lots of reasons to make the journey to ‘Jeff’s shed’. It’s not a time to bury your head in the sand but rather it’s a great opportunity to open your mind to new ideas and new ways of doing things – the good times will return and we all need to be ready when they do. PacPrint is the best place to start planning the next stage in your company’s growth and going about turning your goals into a reality.”
