Heidelberg hero hits new heights

Pemberton, who undertook the ‘Seven Summits Quest’ secured the Australian record on Friday 22nd December when he conquered Mount Aconcagua in Argentina. This is the second Australian record for Pemberton. In May 2005, at the age of 21, he became the youngest Australian to climb Mount Everest.

Since then he’s gone on to climb Mount Denali (Alaska); Mount Kosciuszco (Australia); Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania); Mount Elbrus (Russia) and Vinson Massif (Antarctica), conquering each of the seven summits.

Heidelberg Australia and New Zealand is a sponsor and supporter of Pemberton’s Seven Summits Quest ever since he was guest of honour at the Australia and New Zealand launch of the Speedmaster XL105 Peak Performance Press in August 2005. “Rex is so enthusiastic about his climbing and life in general,” said Glenn Plummer, general manager of marketing and product management, Heidelberg. “He has a real thirst for success in the way he goes about things.”
