Hero adds print power with Indigo 7800

The newest addition to Heroprint’s digital network is up and going in Sydney with excellent results. For the past five years nearly all the digital work coming out of Heroprint has been produced on a Kodak Nexpress. According to Alex Coulson, Heroprint CEO, two Nexpress engines have been working flat-out in Sydney and Perth. “They have done a wonderful job handling the big  increase in production volumes. As a digital press they have a lot of fans and they rarely fall over. “But as anyone around digital printing knows, the HP Indigos also have a big following. The Indigo 7800 is our latest acquisition and we couldn’t be happier with the sheets we are getting off it. “Now, should any of our clients want Indigo work they just need to request it. Digital printing has come such a long way it’s often hard to tell the difference between it and offset,” he said. The increase in the number of short run digital jobs shows no sign of slowing. With a plethora of exotic stocks out there it gives Heroprint an opportunity to offer short run jobs for digital clients wanting something different. Stay tuned for the new digital stock range. The current printing investments continue Hero's practice of only buying to meet customer demand. Apart from the Indigo 7800, there is a significant investment underway in new technology. The New Year will see one large press installation in Sydney and more press power going into Perth. Hero also runs digital printing out of its Melbourne site with additional digital forecast there in the near future. Coulson attributes Hero’s ongoing growth and success to its long-term experience in trade printing. “We’ve been doing this for 15 years. Our website is simple but works and it’s easy to order.”

If the amount of work going through Heroprint in this pre-Christmas season is anything to go by, the printing industry has recovered a lot or at the least stabilised for most.

“I hope we can all look forward to a good 2016," said Coulson
