High five Australian print entries on display at drupa cube
drupa's Top 100 exhibition attracts the best printing jobs from around the world, so naturally Australia and New Zealand will be there amongst it.
Five pieces from the recent National Print Awards in Australia have been chosen to go on display at the drupa cube. The Gold medal award winners include Body of Work by Sydney Allan, Kids of Perth by GEON Advance Press, Wilderness 2008 Calendar by Adams Print – bound by Marvel Bookbinding, Ride Cycling Review by Webstar and D&D&U8 by D&D Global Group.
Patrick Howard, publisher of Print 21, a strategic drupa partner praised the chance for these entries to receive worldwide recognition and respect. "I think Australian printing is as good as anything in the world and we can very proudly display our winning entries with the rest of the world," he said.
According to Sue Archibald of the Pride In Print Awards, New Zealand the Top 100 exhibition is a chance to show the rest of the world what the local industry is capable of. "It's good promotion not just for the awards but for the people producing the work," she said. "It shows that there is good work being produced in your area."
Archibald will be taking the 2007 Supreme winner, the book, Andre Apse – Fiordland, entered by Cover to Cover NZ to the exhibition, along with supreme winners from this year's Print In Print Awards.
