High hopes for new Epson printer
“The Stylus Photo 1410 replaces the perennially popular Stylus Photo 1290 and introduces new Claria ultra high definition photographic dye ink to Epson’s A3+ printer range,” said Mike Pleasants, director of marketing communications, Epson.
Aimed at offices and small businesses, the 1410 is designed to create high impact A3+ prints and other prints in a variety of sizes including border-free 4” by 6” photos. With features that include a MicroPiezo print head, direct printing to CDs and DVDs and six individual ink cartridges, Epson believe that the success of the 1290 – launched in Australia in September 2000 – will ensure the popularity of the 1410.
“The 1290 has to be one of the great success stories in inkjet printer models,” Pleasants said. “So the 1410 starts life with a sound pedigree and, according to overseas reports where it was launched a few weeks ago; it is proving even more popular than its predecessor.”
Pleasants says that the rise of digital cameras has increased consumers’ interest in photography and producing quality images. “The market is very receptive to a printer with all the features of the 1410,” he said. “And the significantly increased durability and longevity also makes the 1410 very attractive to the photo enthusiast.”
