HP cleans up its act in New Zealand

HP launches new recycling program in New Zealand with talk of extending globally.

The HP Indigo Recycling Program is available to HP's Indigo customers who are commercial and industrial print service providers in New Zealand. Used ink canisters are collected by AM International and transported directly to an ISO 14001 recycling facility at zero cost and maximum convenience for HP's customers.

The pilot program ran throughout Australia in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and received a positive response from customers.

"We are extending our commitment and helping our customers reduce their environmental impact," said Shane Lucas, director of graphic arts imaging and printing South Pacific (pictured).

"Through this project, HP is making it easier for HP Indigo customers to be environmentally responsible while enabling them to reduce costs and deliver results."

Troy Wood, HP sales executive at AM International, said the company was proud to be involved and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

"Through this program, our customers can now conveniently dispose of their ink canisters in a responsible way," he said.

The HP Indigo Recycling Program follows on from the HP Planet Partners ink and toner recycling program and aims to ensure that returned products are recycled properly.
