HP Indigo 5000 convinces with high-quality personalized printing
Digi we doo, the Adelaide digital printer, is the latest among many printers to be won over by the high-powered digital colour machine.
There is a surge of original HP Indigo taking the opportunity to upgrade from previous models to the top of the range HP Indigo 5000 sheetfed digital press since its release earlier this year. According to Phillip Rennell, manager of Current Images, the Currie Group digital division, the demand in Australia for the new press has outstripped expectations.
“The benefits of upgrading are so obvious that printers have eagerly embraced the 5000. Not only is the machine designed specifically for mid- to large-size commercial printers, but also all the key components – hardware, software, substrates, consumables, and service – are now as affordable as possible.
“We’re also fielding lots of inquiries from printers wanting to enter the digital printing market for the first time. The HP Indigo 5000 gives them a complete digital solution that integrates seamlessly with their current environment and operates with ease. It’s the obvious choice.”
Digi we doo has done it again

One of the firms that has recently upgraded to the seven-colour HP Indigo 5000 is award winning South Australian printer, Digi we doo, which recently moved to larger premises at 242 Grange Road, Flinders Park. The company has had good service from its previous Indigo model–3050–but reckoned with the move the time was right to ramp it up a gear.
According to Mike Minahan, managing director, the upgrade was necessary to improve the company’s service level and range of services. “Service and quality is everything, which is why we upgraded to the Indigo 5000. Even though we have been very successful in winning awards for our quality, the 5000 will improve it even further and with seven colours plus true spot colours, it opens up a new whole new market targeted at the advertising and design studio industry.”
Digi we doo has already made big inroads in full-colour personalization and recently went one step further with the purchase of DirectSmile software. DirectSmile offers a unique combination of personalisation and emotion for true one-to-one dialogue marketing. Personalised direct mail gets the attention of customers and is one of the most effective ways to boost the response rates of campaigns.

HP Adaptive Halftoning
Another unique advantage of the HP Indigo 500 is the use of high definition text and images using HP's unique Adaptive Halftoning technology. The HP Indigo press 5000 analyzes text as it's being printed, adding dots to fill gaps at the edges to produce crisp, sharp text and images that enhance the quality of printed pieces without affecting color stability.
