The Huber Group expands throughout New Zealand with its acquisition of Nova Inks and Chemicals.

Taking effect as of 1 September, Nova Inks and Chemicals will operate under the banner of Hostmann-Steinberg New Zealand Limited.

Ray Toal, managing director of Hubergoup described the deal as a great opportunity to fuse both companies' services together.

"The acquisition enhances the Huber Group's strategic goal to become a leading printing ink and service provider to customer groups across Australia and New Zealand," he said.

Both companies know one another well and can enhance this further. "The relationship with the Huber Group is a long-standing one with both companies sharing similar problems on market development and support."

The Huber Group will gain manufacturing and distribution operations that will complement its strengths in the region, Toal said. "The business will continue to build on the existing reputation for supplying top quality lithographic inks for all sheetfed and web applications including UV," he added. "The company plans to continue with the supply and service of associated products including rollers and printing blankets."

The privately-owned Nova Inks and Chemicals has been distributing products to New Zealand for over 20 years through its operations across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Toal said that The Huber Group would continue to operate in all its existing New Zealand facilities.
