Kiss Lajos of Hungary has retained his title of FESPA World Wrap Master for the second year running, ahead of Marco Dittl from Germany and Jeremy Gayet from France.
The global wrap event, sponsored by 3M and Mutoh, took place over the five days of FESPA 2015 Global Expo, with 36 wrappers battling it out for the title.
“I'm very happy to have defended my title from last year,” said Lajos. “It is always great to compete with such highly skilled wrappers and it was a super event. I liked the new creative tasks this year’s competition presented and it is good for the competitors to create something unique.”
All prints used during the competition were printed on 3M film with a Mutoh ValueJet 1638X dual head high-speed printer, using Mutoh Universal Mild Solvent (UMS) inks, said Nick Decock, commercial marketing manager at Mutoh.
“All through the competition, wrappers were able to try-out their wrapping capabilities using 3M’s envision print wrap film SV480 Cv3, printed on the Mutoh ValueJet 1638X,” said Jerome Surchamp, business development manager, commercial solutions, 3M. “They were also able to express their creativity with the application of our 3M 1080 coloured wrap films on rockets and vacuum jugs. The World Wrap Masters is a great opportunity for 3M to partner with this community of wrappers who are essential for converting the performance of our films into unique wraps for consumer cars and commercial fleets.”
Over the five day show, visitors for FESPA 2015 were also able to try their hand at wrapping car doors against the clock and speak with the Wrap Masters judges for tips and guidance on wrapping.
