Impressions International turns its eye on lenticular printing

A trip to Japan was all it took for Auckland company, Impressions International to make the move into lenticular printing.

"We saw lenticular last year at a show in Japan and put it on our things to do," said Dale Bamford, general manager.

Impressions can now tick that box after investing in Humaneyes 3D Litho. "We quickly established that Humaneyes were a significant player in this area and started working with both them and Premedia to bring lenticular into our product line," Bamford added.

At the same time, DE Group Limited has invested in Humaneyes Producer 3D Digital. Impressions will produce small format lenticular prints on its Heidelberg 52 UV press, while DE Group will use its Oce Arizona will create one-off short-tun lenticular pieces as well as large format lenticular and lensfree products.

Chris Graham, managing director of Premedia Technologies, the master distributor of HumanEyes for Australia and New Zealand believes these installations will be of great benefit to both companies.

"This really is thrilling; both companies have put a lot of effort into bringing their respective lenticular 3D products to the New Zealand marketplace," he said.
