Kirby International, a division of the BJ Ball Group, is set to bring into the Australia and New Zealand market the largest range of offset plates, graphic arts chemistry and digital print media available anywhere outside the Americas, Europe & Japan. It is currently looking actively seeking new distributors for the TechNova range of products.

The Indian-based TechNova is market leader with a dominant market share in most product groups in the Indian subcontinent. Among its claims is that it is the fourth largest manufacturer of digital printing plates in the world. It has as long-term technical collaboration with Agfa, so it is unlikely to introduce offset plates here in the short term.

It markets its products to over 51 countries and now in Australia and New Zealand through is partnership with Kirby International.

Since its beginning in 1971, TechNova has introduced several breakthrough technologies and is recognized as one of the worlds leading manufacturers of graphic imaging products and is a recipient of the GATF Intertech Award, and the Davos-based World Economic Forum's Top-performing, Global Growth Company Award and Technology Pioneer Award."

According to Sam Varughese, general manager business development, Kirby International there will be a planned roll out of products depending on market requirements. “Customers will have access to a new range of products distributed through a wide channel network, backed by excellent technical support,” he said.

The addition of a new range of graphic arts equipment and consumables is sure to sharpen the already fierce competition among suppliers in the local market. Although Kirby International is a trading company only, it is unlikely to have too much difficulty finding distributors for the TechNova range.

The addition of TechNova products is further evidence of diversification of the supply chain into the region away from traditional European, US and Asian sources. Expect to see everything from CTP systems to offset plates, press chemistry and all types of inkjet media for wide format applications.
