Industry takes control of waste stream management

The Printing Industries brainchild has become a reality following the approval of the constitution of the PAWPSA, the appointment of a board of directors and the selection of Tony Duncan, former Printing Industries Victorian regional manager, as its new CEO.

The role of PAWPSA is to respond to growing demands for manufacturers to be responsible for the products they produce from the beginning of the production cycle until the end, known as Extended Producer Responsibility.

The industry-funded association will work with Printing Industries to draft a detailed plan to be presented to the NSW Government by October 2006. Stephen Anstice, IPMG is the chairman of the new organisation, which has wide support from major players in the industry.
