ISO test helps printers get picture perfect
Near enough is never good enough for a print job. With this in mind, DES are offering the opportunity to undergo a Repro to Press Assessment for printers to analyse how closely they are meeting the ISO print standard 12647.
"This free assessment will be very valuable to printers who are keen to stay ahead of the competition," explained David Crowther (pictured). "Printers can discover how to be more cost and time efficient, produce consistent and repeatable runs, keep their business healthy and print to the increasingly popular ISO standard."

DES will provide printers with a control strip to add to the edge of their press sheet. When the printers are ready, DES will attend and measure the strip and assess the equipment which they have in place. From here, DES will be able to generate a report to indicate how their print tolerances have compared to the ISO standard and provide advice on what needs to be corrected in order to comply with ISO.
According to Russell Cavenagh, sales director, this small step could have enormous benefits for improving business. "This is a simple approach to the complex issue of implementing process control over the entire production workflow," he said.
"We see customers have concerns adopting new standards, but we are experienced and can guide printers through the procedure in a simple and cost-effective way."
