Friday 13th is enough to make even the most skeptical of us take a little care when crossing the road, or walking under a ladder. As the poet had it … there's a destiny that shapes our ends, and few will argue that in addition to hard work and talent, a share of good luck is a necessary ingredient in a successful life. Mind you, as someone else once said … 'it seems the harder I work, the luckier I get'.
