JDF Forum to accelerate CIP4 evolution

The JDF Users Forum will take over the role formerly occupied by the Eproduction forum, and is geared as a means of amplifying the voices of those in print and publishing marketplaces. PrintPlanet is providing the forum to CIP4 to assist the organisation in achieving its objectives, and is a place of technical discussion that connects printers, researchers and developers from both commercial and academic communities.

CIP4 executive director James Harvey claims the new forum will help build the digital infrastructures necessary to support computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) and process automation within the industry, and will accelerate CIP4's goals of providing the standardised solutions needed for open workflows.

“This new CIP4 JDF User Forum should be a great place for new and prospective customers to bring their questions,” says Harvey. “It will provide a space for CIP4 working groups to bounce development ideas off of users, to collect feedback (both criticisms and accolades), and will allow all participants to learn from each other.”

Membership on the JDF User Forum is open to all those in printing and publishing marketplace who registered for the previous Eproduction forum, while new users can register at www.printplanet.com.
