The first Printex to be held at Homebush was a great success, with Jet Technologies enjoying a substantial increase in visitor numbers compared to previous events.
On this occasion, Jet Technologies exhibited along with partner Screen GP Australia in recognition of the growing work the two companies are doing in the field of labels and packaging. That partnership, incidentally, born at a former Printex exhibition, has developed from Screen’s range of CtP equipment for labels and packaging to the exciting L350UV Inkjet press.
The Jet L350UV inkjet press was recognised by Print21 as one of the shows ‘Hot Picks’ and impressed visitors throughout the exhibition with high-quality prints and industry-leading reliability and up-time. The L350UV was flown in especially for Printex, due to strong local interest that followed a recent installation in Sydney at DS Labels.
Jet Technologies has more than 20 years of history in the labels and packaging fields and clients from across Australia and New Zealand came to see the L350UV in action. Strong interest was also shown in the press by printers in more traditional sheetfed offset markets, looking to diversify and add the capability of labels and packaging to their product portfolio.
In addition to the L350UV, Jet Technologies had a number of their Product Managers, each experts in their specific product group, on hand to meet and discuss projects with clients. Lamination (celloglazing) remains a major focus for Jet Technologies and product manager Crissy Maddocks was on hand to launch a new prototype anti-scratch gloss film that is set to make a substantial impact on the print finishing industry.
Substantially harder to scratch, the film is perfect for print that requires protection from high-speed binding or general scuffing.
The film joins the wide range of films in Jet’s portfolio, including Durophan anti-scuff matt, Soft Touch and Soft Touch Metalised films and the range of Superstick products for digital print.
There was strong interest in Jet’s range of flexographic plate materials, with the Asahi AWP plate material making an impression with substantial print and cost benefits.
The equipment on display at Printex will be moved to Jet’s Demo Centre in Sydney, including the L350UV that will remain there for approximately 6 weeks prior to a scheduled installation.
