Job of the Week: General Manager - Operations - Web Print, New Zealand

Our client is one of the largest web-based printing operations in Australia and New Zealand. With multiple plants employing 100's of people, it is a major producer of regional newspapers and high-quality magazines.

Continued growth has created an exciting opportunity - at senior management level - for this new role.

This position has been specially created to “fast-track” the successful candidate eventually into general management levels within the organization - hence it is a role with a future. This organization is large and profitable, offering tremendous personal and professional career opportunity to an ambitious young manager “on the way up”.

You may currently be a senior production or operations manager within a medium-to-large organization or general manager of a smaller organization (preferably in web-based printing) - whose career-path is blocked.

You would bring a “youthful” mindset - brimming with new ideas and preferably with tertiary training in modern management practices, including an IT / MIS-based focus.

You should already have a track record in implementing continuous process improvements, including waste-reduction and productivity enhancements.

You will bring a sharp, innovative and analytical mind, to the challenges of problem-solving and project management. And, you will be comfortable in effectively but diplomatically negotiating “change management” solutions with internal stakeholders (employees) as well as external ones (suppliers).

This is a challenging and exciting role within a large, well-managed, multi-site organization. It is a “proving ground” for the next step - to full General Management status.

Package is negotiable to reflect the seniority and significance of this role. Short-listed candidates will be flown to New Zealand for final interviews.

If you have the background experience for this exciting opportunity, please email your cover letter and resume (Word only - no PDF files) to James Cryer at - in strictest confidence or call James on 02 9904 6222 or mobile 0408 291 508 (in Sydney)
