Job of the week: MAC Operator / Pre-Press(Newspaper Printing), Sydney

Equipped with modern cold-set colour presses, they also boast some of the latest upgrades in pre-press workflow systems - hence some knowledge of web-fed offset (as opposed to sheet-fed) would be a distinct advantage. This role is a technically challenging one, and the client would expect a suitable candidate to have had 5-10 years practical trade-experience, preferably in a newspaper or magazine printing / publishing environment.
Previous exposure to modern workflow software, such as Arkitex, Autologic, Apogee, Prinergy or even Brisque would be essential.
You will have knowledge of basic programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker and Q/Express, plus InDesign.
A working knowledge of colour calibration and ICC Colour-profiling, CTP and imposition skills are also indicative of the high level of expertise required.
This is a senior role, not only requiring technical, but also good communication skills as it involves regular contact with both clients and senior management.
If you have the required experience for this challenging role, please email your cover letter and CV (Word only - no PDF files) to James Cryer.
