Job of the Week: Print Reproduction Specialist, Melbourne
















You will be a key member of the Packaging Reproduction Team, supplying technical prepress and print reproduction trade advice and decision-making. The candidate will oversee the Nestlé packaging processes by project managing quality within time parameters and budget. This is a stand alone role in Mulgrave, although you will work closely with the team based in Sydney.

As one of Nestlé's key brands, Peters Ice-Cream is a major sponsor of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. This role will play a key part in the organisation of pre-press packaging in the lead up to the games. You will also be involved in overseeing all of the Nestlé Chilled Dairy brands.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • To lead Nestlé Personnel through the Packaging Process
  • Informing the Marketing team of the Technical aspects of the prepress print and packaging process
  • Eliminating unnecessary costs in packaging by focusing on improving the development of packaging quality
  • Improving our packaging quality by advising marketing and suppliers on colour separation strategies for packaging reproduction
  • Creating speed to market by managing packaging timelines by supporting and maintaining digital artwork approval process and training marketing and suppliers etc.
  • Implementation and administration of packaging design and prepress
  • Developing monitor and manage timelines and artwork through the system from design to print
  • Maintaining the approval systems functionality by training and educating Nestle personnel in Artflow proprietary approval system and digital asset management
  • Attend Press approvals as required within Australia and overseas with availability 24/7 imperative
  • Supply technical expertise to make vital packaging decisions on behalf of Nestle.
  • Project manage on behalf of Nestlé involving managing suppliers requirements and liaising with key Nestlé stakeholders
  • Conduct timely technical artwork approval sign off within the communication department
  • Check Cromalin/Kodak proofs with marketing


  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • Solid pre-press packaging experience
  • Prepresstrade diploma or post secondary equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • The ability to effectively communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders


  • Your initiative and ability to work independently as well as your strong technical skills will enable you to suceed in this role. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months.
