TharsternSQL is broadly known as a leader in print MIS solutions for the commercial printing industry. The software has been developed for a range of commercial printing environments: sheetfed, digital, screenprint, web and reel label. It also services users in peripheral areas of the industry, such a pre-press and print-brokers. TharsternSQL is a mature, stable solution used by over 700 printing companies worldwide.



As a modular SQL based system, TharsternSQL supports an extensive range of requirements from quoting; job management; work-flow and production scheduling; feed-back from the shop floor; dispatch; warehousing and logistics management; a web-interface for remote sales teams or customers online. TharsternSQL is also JDF capable with other vendor brands such as Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi, Creo Kodak (prepress and Nexpress), Muller Martini, Agfa, Metrix and others.



The role will pivot around the understanding, implementation and support required for existing and prospective customers.



The core aspects of this role include:

  • An involvement with pre and post sales activities including key customer relationship development, technical presentations, project evaluations, project management, installation, training and implementation,.

  • Provide technical assistance for Marketing activities, Regional Workshops, User Group Meetings, Sales Seminars and Trade Shows.



    Desired Experience:

  • Experienced in the commercial print industry, either from within a printing company or as a supplier to the trade. (essential)

  • Intimate knowledge of print workflow. (essential)

  • Management of business wide software solutions. (preferred)

  • Qualification in I.T. (preferred)



    Skills Required:

  • An insatiable capacity to digest and retain training and information.

  • The experience and/or the communication skills to confidently train individuals or small groups in the facets of a sophisticated MIS.

  • The ability to successfully self-manage and work with a small and busy team, juggling multiple tasks in a demanding environment.

  • This job will also involve some support desk activities as well as problem-solving. It will require a willingness and ability to deal professionally and knowledgeably with customers, sometimes in layman’s terms.

  • A willingness to travel domestically with reasonable frequency, to consult and train in customer environments.



    This is a vital role within our organisation. It will be extremely busy and challenging. From the outset, the role is pitched as intermediate to senior, dependent upon the skills of the successful applicant. Training will also be provided to progressively develop the role to fulfill a very active and senior position within the Australasian team.
