JPE celebrates its 70th anniversary

JPE was founded in 1936 as an educational and training forum for managers and future executives within the printing and graphic arts industry. For its 70th year the organisation will be compiling a comprehensive book on its history, as well inviting all past presidents, nominators, members and guests to celebrate at an Anniversary Ball during August.

Franca Balsamo, NSW president of JPE, says succession planning has always been the key to the future and success of the industry, and says many of JPE's past members are now leaders across the printing sector.

“The experience they gained from being a part of JPE has made a huge impact on their lives and those around them. The invaluable network of colleagues they gained has become lifelong friends for most,” says Balsamo.

As part of the preparation for compiling the special edition book marking the 70th anniversary of JPE, the organisation is sending out a questionnaire to all past presidents to discover what stage their career was at when they joined JPE, and where they are now in the printing industry.

“If you have a story to tell, let us know,” says Balsamo. “Over the past year we have been collating all the photos taken over the years and we have a great representation of our 70 year history.”

JPE promises the 70th Anniversary Ball will be a grand event, with plenty of entertainment and opportunities to catch up with industry colleagues. It is a one-off occasion to acknowledge the contributions of members, and is scheduled to take place August 5 at the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney.

“As the 70th JPE NSW President, I am looking forward to a great year and being part of a wonderful association,” says Balsamo. “We have a full calendar of events lined up for our members, nominators and guests. The Committee hopes to see you at the next event.”
