Kalamazoo goes to the wall

Kalamazoo has operated in the Australian and New Zealand printing industry for over 80 years, growing over this time to include flexible business systems, print management and e-commerce among its offerings. In recent years it has transformed itself, introducing considerable print management component to its activities.

Kalamazoo CEO Terry Teoh who bought the ailing company some years ago, brought in the receiver last week. The company’s banker was reported to be unhappy with the way the administration was being handled and brought in its own receiver to protect its interests.

Operating a Komori offset press the company’s manufacturing ranges from business stationery, security printing to commercial colour print and general print. The company was regarded as an iconic trade name for many years before its eponymous filing system was made redundant by computers.

The company chosen to act as the administrator, Hall Chadwick, was unwilling to provide comment on the matter.
