KBA Australia operates from Singapore
A company restructure sees Stefan Segger step up as managing director and sales director of KBA Asia Pacific.
Segger replaces former managing director, Walter Schumacher, who is no longer with the company. KBA Australasia's board of directors now comprises of David Lewis, general manager, sheetfed, Christoph Muller, executive vice president for web press sales, services and marketing, German Stuis, head of controlling and Segger.
Segger (pictured) has been with KBA for 25 years and took on the role because he felt he had enough experience to support the Australasian team. "After the experience I collected as general manager and managing director of KBA Asia Pacific in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur I am convinced about the future potential of KBA in this region," he said.

The transition into the role of managing director has been smooth for Segger. "Last week I visited some of our customers and got a very warm welcome from them," he said. "It was very encouraging that my decision to work in Australia was the right one."
As managing director, Segger will not be located in Australia and will remain in Singapore, making the trip abroad on special occasions. He believes this will not impact negatively upon the Australian team.
"The KBA team in Australia is happy to get a new managing director with experience in sheetfed, commercial web and newspaper," he said. "There are a lot of opportunities for KBA due to the technology we offer ... the foundation is there and we will work hard to build much more on this."
The future holds many more projects, according to Segger, who lists the latest installation at the West Australian newspaper, Perth as a promising sign for further development. "We are going to increase our sales and services capabilities locally and strengthen the network within our KBA subsidiaries to support our customers even more in the future," he said.
"We are going to continue to work as hard as we did before and get more market share for KBA."
